Best Practices for Uploading Floor Plans
Uploading a clear and accurate floor plan is critical for troubleshooting DigiSite sensors and understanding restaurant layouts. Poor-quality images make it difficult for our internal teams to diagnose issues effectively.
Follow these guidelines to ensure your floor plan upload meets quality standards:
1. Use a Clear, Complete Floor Plan
Ensure the floor plan includes all key areas of the restaurant (dining area, bar, kitchen, entry points).
Avoid cropped or partial images—upload the entire layout.
2. Choose High-Quality Images
Resolution: Use a high-resolution image (minimum 1080p recommended).
Lighting: Take the photo in good lighting to avoid shadows or glare.
Focus: Ensure the image is sharp and readable—avoid blurry or pixelated pictures.
3. Maintain Proper Orientation
Upload the floor plan upright (not sideways or upside down).
If taking a photo of a printed plan, align the camera parallel to the paper to avoid distortion.
4. Include Labels and Legends
Make sure table numbers, zones, and key markers are visible.
If the plan includes a legend, ensure it is clear and legible.
5. Avoid Obstructions
Do not cover any part of the floor plan with hands, objects, or reflections.
If photographing a screen, avoid glare and ensure the entire plan fits within the frame.
6. File Format and Size
Preferred formats: JPEG or PNG.
Keep file size reasonable (under 10 MB) for faster upload without losing clarity.
7. Verify Before Uploading
Double-check that the image is:
Complete
Clear
Correctly oriented
If unsure, retake the photo before submitting.
